Go Green with LED Lights

Friday, October 7, 2016 11:57:38 PM Asia/Calcutta

LED Lights are very green. For instance, they use much less electricity than many other lighting products which means that less electricity has to be produced to power them, resulting in lower emissions from power plants, especially in areas where coal-fired plants are common. Unlike CFL bulbs, they contain no mercury and hence possess no health hazard. Because of their long life, they also reduce solid waste, if you replace an incandescent bulb with an LED light bulb, you will prevent about fifty 1,000 hour incandescent bulbs which will throw away. Additionally, they produce very little heat and can reduce energy usage and carbon footprint emissions.

How long do LED Light Bulbs last?

Thursday, October 6, 2016 10:27:09 PM Asia/Calcutta

Not only LED light bulbs but all LEDs have an extremely long-lasting lifetime, on an average a LED light bulb has an average lifetime of about 50,000 hours, which is approximately 50 times longer than a typical incandescent light bulb and about 20-25 times longer than a typical halogen, and 8-10 times longer than a typical CFL or compact florescent lamps, assuming the average lifespan of an LED light Bulb being 50,000 hours, it would last for more than 11 years if used for about  12 hours a day and if used for 8 hours a day, it will last for 17 years!

How does LED light Bulb work?

Monday, October 3, 2016 9:52:57 PM Asia/Calcutta

Light emitting diode or LED Bulbs are made up of two types of material — N-type material and P-type material. The N-type material is engineered to contain extra electrons with extra charge and has free electrons floating around in it. The P-type material has extra "holes” for the opening for electrons and is filled with the charged electrons.
